Portrait of Jean-Francois Alleno with a lush green background

Hi, I’m Jean-Francois

I’m Jean-François Alleno, founder of Hands On Caregiving and I believe you can care deeply for others without disappearing in the process.

I created this business because I know what it’s like to hold it all together. As a longtime nurse and a caregiver myself, I’ve seen the invisible toll it takes when you give everything but don’t receive enough in return. I’ve sat by hospital beds, juggled life around appointments, and felt the ache of watching someone you love go through something hard while pushing your own needs aside.

My approach is grounded in both professional training and lived experience. I’m a registered nurse in Ontario and Quebec with over 20 years in healthcare, a certified Ayurvedic Health Counselor, yoga and meditation teacher, and Vedic astrologer. These practices allow me to support not just your physical health but your whole self.

I do this work because caregivers deserve care too. You deserve support that’s steady, personal, and built around you. Not another to-do list but a path that helps you come home to yourself.

Welcome, I’m so glad you're here!

If you’ve found your way here, chances are you’ve been caring deeply for others—and maybe wondering where that leaves space for you. You’re in the right place.

What if caring for others didn’t mean sacrificing yourself?

They never tell caregivers what it costs to always be the strong one. One day it hit me, caring deeply shouldn’t mean disappearing.

If you're here, chances are you’ve been giving so much of yourself, your energy, your attention, your time and there’s not much left at the end of the day.

You might be holding it together on the outside, but inside you feel stretched thin, maybe even invisible. The constant pressure of caregiving, especially for an aging parent or loved one, can make it feel like there’s no space for your own needs, let alone your own healing.

I understand that weight. I grew up in a home where caregiving was part of daily life, and I became a nurse partly because of the quiet care I witnessed in my family. I’ve cared for relatives, sat through hospital stays, and spent nights sleeping next to my grandmother just in case she needed help. And in my years working in hospitals, I’ve seen far too many caregivers lose their own health, emotionally, physically, even spiritually while trying to hold everything together.

That’s why I created Hands On Caregiving. It’s not just about managing stress. It’s about helping you reconnect with your body, your strength, and your inner steadiness so you can continue to care, without disappearing in the process.

What Caregivers are saying...

“Jean-François made me feel instantly safe and truly seen. His calm guidance helped me move forward when I felt stuck—and that grounded presence is something I still carry with me.”

 Phillip Coupal,
Holistic Counselling and Coaching

"You showed up for me in ways that were quiet but powerful. Your support wasn’t performative—it was real, generous, and deeply human. I felt held, not fixed.”

Mona Warner,
Ayurvedic Doctor

“I was grieving, exhausted, and disconnected. You offered a space where I could soften and be cared for. The treatments and your presence were exactly what I needed to begin coming back to myself.”
